Dec 04, 2012 All cropped out! It’s certainly been a soggy summer! But what has the rain done to our lovely British grown crops this year? Well, some are saying that the price of potatoes might go up. That’s because many have rotted in the ground because of the wet weather. So there will be fewer tatties to go round, and people may have to pay a little more. The asparagus season’s also been shorter than usual, and a big event in the faming calendar – the British Asparagus Festival – had to be cancelled due to a lack of the green shooted plant! But Parsnips and Pears customers needn’t worry. We’re a little different, because we only offer vegetables that’s in season. And if it happens to mean that something’s not grown too well because of the weather, then we’ll find you another, locally produced alternative!
