  All cropped out!

  It’s certainly been a soggy summer! But what has the rain done to our lovely British grown crops this year?

  But Parsnips and Pears customers needn’t worry. We’re a little different, because we only offer vegetables that’s in season. And if it happens to mean that something’s not grown too well because of the weather, then we’ll find you another, locally produced alternative!

  No point crying over spilt milk?

  There’s been a lot in the news over the summer about dairy farmers protesting over low milk prices. Many have been up in arms, battling against the pricing war to avoid making a pint of milk at a loss. Some even wanted to cause problems during the London 2012 Olympic Games with further strike action.

  Here at Parsnips and Pears, we have a lot of sympathy for the dairy farmers affected by this situation, and believe it’s really important to give them a fair deal.

  Happy Harvest!

  It's Harvest soon, and to celebrate the launch of Parsnips and Pears this September, we’re running our first competition! To be in with a chance to win some tasty vegetable boxes, and if your school is in the NG4 – 6 and NG8 – NG16 postcode areas, all you have to do to enter is:  

  • Draw, paint or make a picture of your favourite vegetable (Infants)
  • Write a short story telling us what is your favourite vegetable and why (Juniors)

  Fans Of Five A Day Flock To Local Company

  A new Nottingham(shire) based vegetable box company has signed up over 200 customers in the last eight weeks, following a hugely successful pilot scheme. The business is now preparing for a full launch across the NG4-6 and NG8-16 postcode areas on 3rd September 2012, expanding its services even further at the start of next year.

  Sara Barlow is the force behind this new business; “This is honest to goodness, great quality, great tasting seasonal produce delivered directly to the door .... and that common sense offer has really resonated with our customers.
